TB and Me

This is me again. You have no idea how this site has warmed my heart. I am in the process of trying to get a book published about the whole emotional healing and my life. I have just decided that rather than go through an unknown publisher, that maybe you and the Maybury friends would like to help me. I am no journalist, but I have been writing about my healing for years, 13 to be exact. When I turned 40 I started to have strange nightmares and dreams about the TB days, of which I knew very little. My family never ever talked about it. I needed answers. My first trip out to Maybury, an hour from my house produced very little info, as did my web searchings. I did find loads of info and a lot of the same pictures at Northvilles library. I spent so much time there crying and crying and the library staff was so helpful. When I went to the web today, because I am finally ready to get the story out I was in awe when I found this site. You whom ever you are made my day. I can't write this book without including you and this site and the work you did at the park. I will send my proposal as they are called so you and the friends can decided if this project would excite and help others. I just know if I have emotional scars there are probably more people out there. Please contact me at jackfam@wideopenwest.com or call 313 381 2409. My mom and dad have never been back there, too much pain. They are in their seventies and I would so much like to ease the last years with the good that came from TB and Maybury Sanatorium. Thank you and God bless.

Re: TB and Me

In 1964 I had TB and there was a place for the children and they showed a play for those children. I was one of those kids and they took pictures that day. I saw a picture of me in the newspaper and I wanted to know if there was a way i could get that picture sent to me.
