I was employed at Maybury from July 1948 until December 1949. I remember Drs.Howard, Tex Mueller, Woodruff, Yannatelli, Maresh, klopfenstein, Edna jones Bailey, Chang and Shek. I also knew Bill Steininger whose last address was a retirement home on the south side of Southern Ave. where Mesa joins Tempe and one time was opposite a place called Organ Stop Pizza. Steinie was close to 90 years of age and last Christmas I did not hear from him. I was back to Maybury two or three years ago. The only place I recognized was the staff houses area. Dr. Howard's house was moved a mile or so from its original site. We did get to see it. The park people were very kind especially when they learned that we could provide some background about the facility. I have some pictures of Tex and others. If I can find them I will send some copies. Now that I have written these few notes I want you to know that I was happy to hear from someone interested in the place. If you have any specific questions I will try to answer them. However, most of what I know will reflect my experiences there during my 18 month stay.
